Restore

A couple weeks ago I turned 25...
I feel I am officially at the "let's pretend I'm still 21 age".

Wes planned a surprise date for us up near Collingwood.  We got the kids ready-took them to their grandparents for the night and drove.  I guessed the location within a few hours of the drive, but not what he had planned for me there.
We spent the first day looking for a hotel (note to self: when going away for a long weekend- book hotel in advance).  Finally after finding a hotel, we made our way to the beach.  It was beautiful and we got to swim a bit and just talk.  After spending the whole afternoon at the beach, we went out for supper and back to the hotel.  The next morning, we went hiking through caves and got to walk across the longest suspension bridge in Canada as well as going on a twin zipline together (so cool).

This getaway was exactly what we needed and couldn't have come at a more perfect time.

It's been a tough summer for us.   Each relationship has ups and downs; near the beginning of the summer- we went through one of the toughest times in our marriage.  It's through these times though, I find myself leaning on God's promises more than ever before.

Hebrews 4:16
“Let us then with confidence draw near to the throne of grace, that we may receive mercy and find grace to help in time of need”

God is good.  If you cry out to Him- He will listen.  He can work with anybody who is willing to let Him work in their life.

Though, I'm sure we will have easy and difficult times in our marriage in the future, I know that by putting my faith in God's plan for our lives, and by committing to love my husband through "the good and the bad"- we can stand through these tough times.
