The Two Biggest Days in My Life
We are almost there! Exactly 2 weeks until our baby's due date! Unless it is just myself, I find once you get this close to having your first child, you really think about how big this day will be. The only other day that I have ever prepared this much for is my wedding day.
In a sense, these two days have a lot of things in common - both of our lives will be changed by this day, we have prepared for this day for months and months beforehand and above all we are trusting God with everything both on the day and afterwards.
Our Wedding Day - April 23 2011 |
Christmas 2012- Due Date: January 24 2013 |
There are however many differences:
- We must relax before the baby comes rather than after Wes and I know how much work a baby will be. Unlike the wedding, where you get the honeymoon afterwards to rest and relax, life is going to get a lot faster very quickly.
- The baby's personality is going to be a complete surprise to us When Wes and I got married, I knew what I was in for. I knew his personality and both his strengths and weaknesses. When we have this wonderful child, we are both in for a complete surprise.
- There is no "dating" period when you have a baby You are kind of thrown into this whole parenting thing. It's amazing and terrifying all at the same time. There are so many things to learn and so many things that could possibly go wrong, but the amazing thing is you have been blessed with a child to take care of.
- You are a main part in teaching your child about Christ's love Unlike marriage, your child does not go into this relationship knowing about the one true God. It is up to you as parents to teach them this. This is perhaps one of the important reasons to find a husband who loves the Lord with all his heart as well.

Happy Birthday Mom!
Happy birthday to my beautiful mother!
She has always been there for me, even when I haven't been the best in return.
Thank you for everything you have done for both me and the rest of the family!

Week 37
How far along? 37 weeks ! Full term!!
Maternity clothes? Yep so hard to find any other clothes that cover my whole baby bump.
Exercising: What I can do yes. As of yesterday I was put on bed rest for at least a week though so not able to really do anything now which isn't fun.
Stretch marks? Yes... I don't have the "cute baby belly" unfortunately but it will all be worth it in the end!
Sleep: Worse and Worse. The carpal tunnel is getting very bad so I end up sitting up most nights.
Best moment this week: Christmas was wonderful and I loved seeing my family in Ottawa and friends as well. The ultrasound is still my favourite part of the week though as we got to see our baby girl for the last time before she arrives in 3 short weeks.
Have you told family and friends: Yep.
Miss Anything? Energy. Ever since she has moved down the pressure is making it harder and harder to walk.
Movement: yep! The only thing is not many people have felt her as she is very shy only really kicks for me and wes. It's funny because when he gets home and talks she starts moving like crazy
Food cravings: nothing weird....
Anything making you queasy or sick: Not right now.
Have you started to show yet: yes. According to the last ultrasound she is now 7 lbs!
Gender prediction: No longer a prediction. It's a girl!!
Labor Signs: Having Braxton hicks contractions and lots of stretching and she has dropped so now it's a waiting game.
Belly Button in or out? Bottom half is in top half is out... A bit strange.
Wedding rings on or off? off (wearing them on my neck though)
Happy or Moody most of the time: ALL OVER. I am sorry guys!
Looking forward to: Getting to meet this baby girl!
Not loving: Carpal tunnel .... the worst.
